Birth is a big miracle and a privilege, no matter how it happens
My birth experience was definitely not the way I had envisioned. I knew I had a higher chance of having a C-section since I was expecting twins but I still wanted to try to have a normal birth. After all I wouldn't be the first to do it and would definitely not be the last. I did my research and had my support system on board. So when I was rushed to hospital, a month before my due date with bleeding, my expectations came crumbling down. I feel eternally grateful for my two beautiful healthy boys but it took me a while to accept the way I had delivered. I felt my body had failed me in some way. I was surrounded by so much love and support during the procedure and the following days I still consider it to be a positive birth experience. Today, I have a scar to remind me that even though sometimes things don't go according to plan it doesn't make it any less of a beautiful experience. Birth is a big miracle and a privilege, no matter how it happens.
